A Little Peace & Quiet

  As you all know Lexi is more than what you would call "active".  She's like a tornado, dynamite, a shark, and electricity all trying to be contained in a very small box.  We recently found out that maybe that's just the way we need to handle her, in a very small box.  Or hamper.  A few days ago Lexi pulled out all our dirty clothes and insisted on being in our hamper.  I decided to see where this would take us.  It was the most peaceful, bite-free, tear-free, timeout-free evening we have ever had.  I am seriously considering buying myself a new hamper and giving Lexi our old one.  She would pull the top down and just cuddle with blankie.  Here's some pictures of how Lexi spent at least an hour in a hamper.  Look carefully in the last picture for those green Lexi eyes staring back at you.

 

Easter

You can all thank Tim for this post... He didn't take his computer to work today so I don't have to wait till the weekend to update you all on our Easter weekend!  It was a pretty quiet weekend.  Tim had Bar prep on Saturday so the girls and I baked cookies.  My mom sent us the coolest frosting markers I've ever seen.  They look just like felt tip markers but they have frosting or food coloring in them.  We had a lot of fun getting creative and then eating our art!
  In the evening we did the ever popular egg dying.  Messy as usual, and I've had some good egg salad this week for lunch.
  Sunday morning was the first holiday Audrey has ever woken us up.  Christmas or Easter, it doesn't matter, we're up wondering if Audrey remembers that there has been a visitor the night before.  But this time Audrey jumped on us telling us to get moving.  I'm still not used to the Easter Bunny hiding the basket instead of the eggs, but apparently that's what he did when Tim was growing up.  And that's what the Bunny did this year too.  He thought Audrey would be tricked when he hid her basket on a ledge (shelf? I don't know what it's called) about 10 ft. up, but she had a perfect view from our bed out the door and into the living room.  No hunt for Audrey!  Once Lexi woke up all she had to do was sniff out her basket, she knew where the sugar was.

Spring Breakin' it in San Diego!

Last week was Tim's final Spring Break and to celebrate we took the girls to San Diego for a few days of fun.  The first thing we did was hit the beach.  They had never seen the ocean before and we decided it was crucial we get them there.  They loved it!  The water was cold but they didn't mind.  Audrey brought home a bag full of sea shells and every night when I ask Lexi what her favorite part of the day was she still says "playing at the beach".
  We then spent two days at Sea World.  There is way too much there to even describe what we did those two days, but I can tell you what our favorites were.  Lexi's fave was "Sesame Street Land" which wasn't even called that, but she asks every day to go back.  Audrey's favorite was probably the rides in "Sesame Street Land" but I think a close second would either be the Shamu show or the penguins.  Tim's favorite was the sharks.  He had an eye-to-eye moment with Jaws in the tube that takes you under the tank.  I think mine was actually petting the Bat Rays.  They were so ugly, but that kind of made them cute!  We had a great time and can't wait to go back!
