Snack Time

My purpose for tonight's blog should be to keep you all updated on the cuteness that is Audrey and Lexi.  I suppose I should be honest... Tonight the torture of 24 begins for another season.  So, really, I just needed to find something better to do, and fast!  So, please enjoy.
At the beginning of the week Audrey decided she was going to make her own Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich. Since then she has mastered the cuisine of PB & J and makes an average of three a day for herself, then when she can eat no more she tries to convince Lexi that she is craving Audrey's specialty and a little peanut butter is all that will make the world right again.  I'll admit it has made my world a lot simpler especially after I taught Audrey "a chef always cleans up after herself".  Needless to say she is relishing in her new found freedom.
After watching Audrey in the kitchen all week Lexi has decided she can do it too. She has to keep up with Big Sis.

We're in the process of getting her own Food Network show as we speak.

Lexi has found a more effecient method

Now, I'm all for Lexi's process.  In her defense the jelly was my Grandma Sam's Pomegranate Jelly.  The only thing that competes with that is Grandma Crouch's Raspberry, which sadly can't be found in our fridge at this time (hint).  The only flaw I've found with Lexi skipping the bread is the major cross-contamination issue.  Peanut butter, jelly and a generous amount of drool are all mixed in each of the jars.  That's all right, we still love her.

Yesterday I decided to use my awesome Christmas present that Tim gave me.  My new popcorn popper, which I ordered Tim to buy me and I almost bought and wrapped myself.  I must say it works beautifully and I was very excited to make one of my favorite treats that my mom used to make on rainy Sundays.  No, it was neither rainy nor was it Sunday, but we made it work.  It's funny how quickly a cube of butter and marshmallows can take you back to childhood, plus it's just yummy.

Audrey was impressed with the capabilities melted marshmallows allowed.
Yes, it looked even grosser in real life.

Lexi was just busy stuffing her face, I couldn't fill her bowl quick enough.  When I took this kernel off her chin she squawked at me until I popped it into her baby bird mouth.

I hope I've made you all hungry, go ahead and get yourself a snack.  I only have 18 minutes left of 24 to endure, thanks for helping me out!

Let's Play Catch Up!

Crazy doesn't even begin to describe the last month and a half!  We're finally all moved in and I think we're done with maintenance guys, we have a working phone and internet, the heater works and we have warm water, we can actually open our mail box, and we've been promised that this Sunday is the last we have to journey across town for 9 a.m. church, and although nothing has been put on the walls yet we're starting to feel at home.
There are so many stories we could share with you about our chaotic adventure since we've last seen most of you but, I would be here typing for hours and you don't really want to read most of it.  But when you talk to the girls next just ask them how Mommy screams when she gets into an ice cold shower! *And how Daddy brags about his daily cold showers in Buenos Aires.*
Now that we've made it through 2 1/2 weeks here we're really enjoying it.  Since we now live in a condominium community most of our neighbors are Senior Citizens with little yappy dogs and shiney cars.  But, everyone is really nice and it's quiet.  Basically, it's a Retirment Village.  Which is perfect for us since at our last place we were always the ones shaking our fists and snarling "those darn kids" when it was only 9 o'clock and we could hear someone's bass.
The real reason for this post is to share a few pictures from Christmas, since my last post was pretty lame.  I wish we had some cute pics and stories of how we celebrated New Years, but we pretty much forgot about it and we all went to bed early.  So, here is what we do have...
