Our main objective was going to Tim's Aunt's glass studio in Idaho. She does beautiful work with fused glass and every year she takes time out of her busy schedule to teach Connie's family a few tricks of the trade. But, before we drove up there, the girls got to play with Grandpa, Uncle Ben and the cousins in Reno. Then, we made the long drive up to Boise. Once we got to Linda's it was my turn to play. I made some stuff for the girls room, some gifts, and a plate that is on loan at Grandma Crouch's until I can pick it up. It was too big to take on the plane. While I was busy making glass the girls were busy playing with Tim's cousins, Austin and Britney (they were great babysitters!). But, Audrey even got to create a little bit in the studio.
After Boise the girls and I drove over to Grass Valley with my Mom. This turned out to be quite the adventure right from the beginning! We started out of Reno at 8 p.m. and rolled into the driveway at 1 a.m. The weather had been a bit off-and-on that day and we barely made it through chain control without having to put on the chains. Not long after that we had to sit in the car for 2 hours waiting for CalTrans to sand the icy roads. Fortunately the girls were really good. The next morning we were all rested and happy! We had a great time visiting with Aunt Danielle, Uncle Evan, Grandma and Grandpa and the Great-Grandmas. We even found time to eat at "Big A's". Yummy!
We had so much fun and we're so glad we went. But, we missed Tim and we're happy to be home!
